First of all, on this blissful and charming day of CTGI 10th anniversary, may CTGI continue the journey of success and growth with pride and many more years of success!
I would like to thank CTGI, CSAIL and KPCL management to have belief on my professional capabilities and provided me continuous support in my entire journey, since I joined KPCL, where I was provided an opportunity to nurture my professional abilities and capabilities.
I am working as the General Manager Finance of Karot Hydropower Project, a subsidiary of CSAIL since September 2016. I am a Chartered Accountant having 15-year experience in working various government and private sector organizations mainly in power sector. I started off my journey with EY, where I was fortunate to work with different companies operating in power sector including generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. Being part of first solar IPP project of Pakistan, I contributed towards tariff, legal and financial infrastructure of solar energy in Pakistan. I was awarded certificate of merit as recognition by the then honorable Prime Minster of Pakistan.
I consider myself blessed to be working for KPCL, this organization has given me immense opportunities to showcase my flair and intent. KPCL has appreciated every effort made and has always set a leadership culture of transparency, fairness, team collaboration and leading by example. I have lived through every challenge faced during my stay at KPCL which not only helped me grow as a professional but also indulged me in continuous process of learning and self believe. The confidence that has been inducted has helped me take my team to new horizons and nurture my professional skills in the manner that I am today.
Last 05 years of my stay in KPCL was eventful and full of challenges, with the support of the team and higher management where we have converted each challenge into an opportunity, under the supervision of management and support of KPCL/CSAIL team we achieved multiple landmark achievements, such as achievement of financial close of 720MW Karot Hydropower Project on a target date, managed to get the sales tax exemption on construction services from the government. Finalized the sharing mechanism of taxes between the various tax authorities and managed the additional tax exposure, participated in formulating various financial policies and development of various financial and non-financial database, identified and managed various risks to the business such as risk from foreign exchange regulations, taxation regulations and tariff regime.
These were some of the milestones that I managed to achieve, this has only been possible by the confidence put in me by our leadership, who not only provided opportunity to grow but also gave freedom to decide and act upon in the best interest of the organization.
I’d like to thank our management for being supportive and providing healthy work environment to grow as professional while achieving organizational objectives. I pledge to continue playing my part in the growth of the organization.
